Down to the river, they would go,
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble to and fro.
But the one little duck with the feather on his back
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack!
I’m guessing that these are mallards. 😊
This nursery rhyme often comes in the six-duck version, but the three-duck version is what I learned as a kid. The teacher would make us take turns as the “leader with the feather” who quacks and leads the others wobble around the classroom while singing this song. 😊
That’s how we learned English as a second language. And to count, too. So the teacher was being kind with three ducks instead of six.
