Aubergine Flower in the Sun

Since last year, friends have taken on urban gardening. Some grow flowers while we have opted to start growing vegetables.

Flowers of these vegetables, such as the okra, add color — an unintended bonus — to the garden. And aubergine (eggplant), too, with its purple color that fits the Lenten season.

It’s April and it’s hot (36 C or 97 F), typical at this time of year in these parts.

A good time to take cover from the heat, slow down and reflect. And perhaps be a little thankful (or a lot), and pray a bit (or a bit more) that this pandemic will finally be over.
