Gumamela

hibiscus_3667n2

Do you remember
When we first met
An age of innocence
Among the flowers and plants
Where we began to dream
And write poetry

Do you remember
The heart I carved on a mango tree
The gumamela I offered you
Holding hands on the beach
Free as birds
The memories of our yesterday

Now you’ve come back
And my longing is like yours
To see the refuge
The shelter of our poetry and dreams
But now it's gone
Where can we find it?

Time passes by
Taking our memories along
The trees and the flowers
Why do they have to leave?
Every opportunity has its chance
Can yesterday come back?
