Challenge 124: Then and Now

Amy invites us to share images of some things in our life that have changed due to the pandemic.

First of course is travel, which I miss.

At the corner of 2nd Avenue and 53rd Street, Manhattan, New York.

At the corner of 9th Avenue and 26th Street, Taguig City, Philippines.

On the surface there are similarities, but there are more differences then and now. Aside from Taguig not being New York 🙂 , people then were freely walking on the street, no worries about social distancing and wearing masks.

Another difference is the way we gather to worship.

Then, a crowded celebration during Palm Sunday.

Now, limited seating, strictly by online reservation, face masks and face shields required.

Then there’s vegetables.

Then, a favorite Sunday market.

Now, growing vegetables in the backyard. 🙂

“Change is the only constant in life.” (Heraclitus)

I hope we can meet the challenges of adapting to change, while keeping the good parts of both then and now.
