Zebra doves are native to Southeast Asia. They are common but not domesticated. Small with a long tail and black-and-white barring, they live in farms and open country as well as parks and gardens in cities.
This photo was taken in a neighbourhood street, where their pleasant cooing calls add melody to an otherwise urban setting.
Though simple and small, they are a beautiful reminder of the wonders of nature and the many creatures that share this world we call ours.
